Scripture – 2 Corinthians 5:18-19
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
The Gospel is the good news of the reconciliation of God and man. That which separated man from God has been removed, allowing the relationship between God and man to be re-established, having abolished the need for any more atonement sacrifices.
I have received the ministry of reconciliation – which means Jesus has made the way for me to have a relationship with our father.
The message of this reconciliation has been entrusted to me – and I am fit to tell others about it because I am experiencing it.
Sometimes it’s hard to tell people about God because we think that it’s pushing something on them that they don’t really want to hear. People like being their own god. They like control over their own lives. They like it when life is about them.
But the message that they can have a direct conversation with God about anything and everything is something that everyone, no matter who they are or what they’ve done, wants to hear. Then the fact that it’s because of Jesus comes pretty easily.
Father, thank you for reconciling me to yourself. Thank you for providing the same way for all people. Thank you for giving me an easy message to share with others. Be glorified today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
