Becoming a disciple: do not neglect the gift of encouragement

Scripture – 2 Corinthians 7:5

We faced conflict from every direction, with battles on the outside and fear on the inside.

There is always someone around me who is facing conflict, both physical battles where life circumstances seems to be against them, as well as warring of the mind and the emotions.

Encouragement. I have a gift of encouragement and I need to use this spiritual gift more. Those in the church able to encourage others never have a lack of people to help. We need to fan these gifts into flame so that an atmosphere of encouragement (which leads to joy) will rise up amidst the knowledge that there will always be someone needing a word of encouragement.

Father, please fan into flame my gift of encouragement and all those you have called to be encouragers. Let encouragement in your Holy Spirit be the norm. Let me not forget there is always someone around me who needs it. Thanks for the reminder and the encouragement today. I love you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
