Scripture – John 2:9
They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.
The servants had the privilege of not only witnessing but participating in an amazing miracle of Jesus. Neither Master of Ceremonies, the Wedding Coordinator, nor any of the guests had this honor. It is amazing to think of how many miracles those who may seem to be at the bottom of the pile get not only to see but also invited to participate in.
This is a true kingdom principle. When we serve, we are invited to participate in what Jesus is doing to change lives. He chooses to use us, but it is through our serving and loving others that we get this privilege. When we have an attitude of clamoring for the best seat, wanting to be served, we don’t see the miracles happening all around us and we certainly don’t get invited to participate in those miracles.
I choose to view every opportunity I get to serve someone else as an invitation to participate in a miracle Jesus wants to do in someone else’s life. He truly desires to change lives through us.
Father, thank you for the reminder of the blessing and honor and privilege it is to serve in your kingdom. Thank you for inviting me to participate in the miracles you want to do in people’s lives. Be glorified today through what I think, say and do. In Jesus’ incredible name, amen.
